The firm was originally established by Ben Chernov, Phillip Croen and Aaron Goodstein. Aaron Goodstein left the firm in 1977 following his appointment as U.S. Magistrate. Margaret McGarity, an associate member of the firm, left in 1986 following her appointment as U.S. Bankruptcy Judge. U.S. District Judge Myron Gordon and U.S. Bankruptcy Judge James Shapiro were also associated with the firm prior to their ascending to the Federal Courts.
